Fairooz Alawami is a fifth year Architectural Engineering student at the Pennsylvania State University. She will graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering. Her primary focus is within the Lighting and Electrical option, resulting in her understanding that creativity and calculations go hand in hand.

This past summer Fairooz interned at BR+A, where she developed her love for electrical design. She took on electrical projects by viewing them as large puzzles that needed to be pieced together. Fairooz also enjoys showcasing her creativity through her lighting design projects. This allowed her to become one of the recipients of an Honorable Mention from the Howard Brandston National Student Design Competition. Through her studies and experience as a research lab assistant in the AE department, Fairooz has gained a deep understanding of all AE options.

Her need to experience different cultures lead her to study abroad in China for 7 weeks. During this time, she completed 7 credits of architectural engineering classes, as well as 3 credits of architectural studio. In her spare time, you will find Fairooz at the gym, in the dance studio, or enjoying nature.
